6 tips for efficient landscaping and a well-kept garden

A garden is one of the important elements of a property and matters a great deal. A well-kept garden is a sign of good property maintenance. Beyond that, green spaces affect mental health and serve as a "green lung" in urban areas.

Because Israel's water situation is under constant risk, we chose to gather a few tips for a well-kept garden through efficient landscaping.

Irrigation system: Simply using an irrigation system saves water, because one of its functions is to water automatically according to the data we enter. The data includes the intervals between waterings and how long each watering lasts. Of course, to save as much water as possible, set the irrigation system according to the needs of the plants in the garden, and adjust the timer between summer and winter, watering at hours when there is no sun.

Another aid to saving water is an irrigation computer or a water metering valve, which lets you allocate the amount of water for each watering.

Planting: When it comes to caring for the garden and planting, it is important to use professionals who know which plants to plant in order to save energy and achieve maximum care with minimum resources.

It is highly advisable to choose plants with low water consumption, and plants without a large root system, which can increase the garden's water consumption.

This kind of landscaping work is provided by a building management company that manages planting and care schedules and hires certified gardeners who adapt the garden and its care to Israel's climate.

Drip system: The simple, brilliant invention of drip irrigation made a huge difference to garden watering. A drip system makes watering precise, delivering water directly and in a controlled way to the plant's roots without wasting water on dead areas. For a drip system to work as well and as efficiently as possible, it must be planned correctly so that it reaches the plants' roots, with the number of drippers per plant based on how much water it needs.

Fertilizer injector: A fertilizer injector works like an irrigation system. It is essentially a fertilization system designed for a specific flow rate that operates automatically in sync with the irrigation system, saving unnecessary fertilization and sometimes landscaping work as well.

It is important to set the fertilizer injector to suit each plant.

Dead vegetation: Dead vegetation is usually handled by a gardener on a regular basis. We recommend removing dead vegetation to give the garden a clean, attractive look, and replacing it with flowers and plants suited to every season of the year.

Cultivation: Cultivating the soil helps on several levels. The hot sun in Israel dries out the soil, so this action essentially "breaks" the top layer of soil and lets air, fertilizer and water reach the inner layers of soil and the plant roots. It is done by a certified gardener, helps renew the soil and allows new growth.
